Meet Eddie's Kids

"We really appreciate all you've done for us .."

"The excitement and fun we had will last forever."

"This is one of the best days of my life .."

"I loved the game and I will work hard in school so I can get tickets again."

"It is so nice to see people giving to our children ."

"This was like the best time I have ever had. You guys are so awesome and great."

"I earned the tickets by getting straight A's on my report card. I was able to take my dad, my step mom and my aunt. It was a great family outing."

These are just samples of the thousands of letters Eddie Wedelstedt gets every year from children, parents and teachers. For the kids, it's an opportunity to do something they may not otherwise have the chance to do. For parents, it's a way to connect and bond with their children. Perhaps in ways they never expected.

Children are so grateful for any kind of special attention. One of Eddie's Kids was so excited to see his first Denver Nuggets game, he had to tell Eddie about it. Eddie was thrilled to learn that it wasn't so much the game that pleased this child. It was the chance to spend time alone with his mother, who works long hours to raise her other children by herself.

All of Eddie's Kids are thrilled to see a game. Thrilled to spend time with their hard-working parents. One child was excited just to be in the Pepsi Center because it was the first time he ever tried cotton candy.

Every single one of Eddie's Kids has a story. And, as you can tell from the stories above, it's not always just the game that gets these kids excited. It's the chance to be part of a family again - or the chance to be somewhere they've never been. Arguably, the best thing kids get out of Eddie's Kids programs is the lasting memories.
